This weather radar works as good as it is possible with the random placement of clouds in the simulation. The Toliss uses the default weather radar of X-Plane.It is also more stable in cross-wind landings. The FlightFactor appears more stable in all situations, however, and shows less reaction to turbulence.
TOLISS A321 GROUND HANDLING SET MANUAL
I think you will not find many differences in manual flight during normal operations. Thus it avoids the problems of X-Plane's implementation, nor can it profit from its positive sides.
TOLISS A321 GROUND HANDLING SET CODE
The FlightFactor uses its own code for the flight dynamics. On the other hand, the changes are not always working well. And there are lots of necessary improvements, especially near and on the ground. The positive effect is that the plane includes all improvements and changes.
The Toliss uses the flight dynamics that Austin writes and manages for X-Plane. I tried some stalls and protections on the FlightFactor and found nothing that I did not expect from an Airbus. Other pilots report errors in the details of the non-normal flight as compared to real life. This was managed well enough by the FlightFactor but also works in the Toliss. I never have put things to a test besides flying with one engine out, landing or restarting the engine. For that, a lot of detailed programming of abnormal states and reduced laws would be necessary. Complete handling of failures is missing in both planes, though both have failure menus now. I have still much more trust in a proper reaction to the FlightFactor version. Of course, the real test for the systems occurs when you do something out of the order. The Toliss simplifies all these details a bit and feels a lot more "simulated" if you understand what I mean. The simulation includes proper timings for the start of the various systems, including proper signals. During the click, the buttons may display effects that simply are not present in the Toliss. Buttons actually move when you press them. When you fly the planes you will notice the difference that the simulation of each system in the FlightFactor Airbus makes. How do these different approaches reflect in the flying? Here are some typical points. The plane has now even declared "final" without fixing the remaining buggy or missing features. Updates have been frequent in the first phase, but are now even less frequent than in the Toliss. The main developer has been active in the net at the Beta phase, but now other developers appear in the forum. A nice virtual cockpit and a good outside model were added too. The FF A320 does not use the flight dynamics of X-Plane. This is a very ambitious goal since an Airbus is such a complicated aircraft. The aim was to develop a simulation of every system in the airplane, similar to the FSL Airbus for FSX/P3D. The developer of the FlightFactor (called "Assert") took a more thorough approach and started from scratch. But the recent improvements found in the new A321 will come to the A319 after they have been tested by the users. Updates are rare, however, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The developer is very active in the forum. The developer (called "Gliding Kiwi") also fine-tuned the flight model to tune the flight dynamics of X-Plane. As far as I understand it, the Toliss took the fly-by-wire model from an older simulation by QPAC and added a virtual cockpit and a nice outside model. The approaches to the development of these two simulations are very much different. So the FF A320 and the Toliss A319/A321 are the remaining choices. I also omit other Airbusses that are not on par and should be avoided. It is probably on the same level as the recently updated A320. A recent flight confirmed the problems, although there have been some improvements. It too often does not behave like I expect an Airbus to behave. I omit the JarDesign products because I flew the JD A320 a lot when there was no other choice, but never quite liked it. I dare to compare the FlightFactor and the Toliss in this posting. We have actually four full Airbus simulations on X-Plane 11, the FlightFactor A320 Ultimate, the Toliss A319, the Toliss A321, and the JarDesign Airbusses A320 and A330.
